This is a 2-3 month contract opportunity that will be onsite minimum 4 days per week in Durham, NC. Looking for someone who can start immediately.
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior IT Administrator to join our Corporate IT team. This critical role will be based in our Durham, North Carolina office and will be responsible for providing exceptional hands-on customer support for our Executive Leadership team and our staff globally. The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated team player with a positive attitude and the ability to work independently. Excellent communication and customer service skills are essential, with a focus on providing effective, efficient solutions.
About the role of the Senior IT Administrator:
- Collaborate with a worldwide team of IT professionals, both internal and external
- Provide in-person and remote support to all employees, including Executive and Senior Leadership
- Respond to and manage incoming technical support requests via the IT help desk ticketing system & other support avenues
- Own the North Carolina IT office infrastructure- firewalls (e.g., UniFi, Fortinet), VPN gateways, WiFi - and end-user devices
- Ensure the availability and proper working condition of equipment and peripherals, assisting with their setup, maintenance, repair, and disposal
- Collaborate with other departments (e.g., Engineering, DevOps, Security, Facilities, Finance, & Corporate Systems)
- Lead projects, including initiation and planning, definition of requirements, benefits, and technical strategy, design, development, testing, and rollout
- Manage, enroll, and improve our MDM infrastructure - JAMF and Intune
- Support our communication and productivity stack (e.g., Google Apps, Slack, etc.)
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams for both onboarding and offboarding employees (e.g., new hire orientations, asset management, access control)
- Support IT requirements for both local events, such as executive leadership and board meetings, and global events, such as all-hands meetings
- Collaborate with third-party vendors, managing software licenses, and ensuring policy compliance
- Occasional travel to other offices may be required to assist with IT support
About you as the Senior IT Administrator:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree and a minimum of 5+ years of relevant work experience
- Previous support of Windows, Mac, and Linux environments
- Certificates or educational degrees in IT are a plus
- Prior work with Identity Provider platforms like Okta and SaaS applications like Google Workspace
- Experience with centrally managed client security technologies such as Crowdstrike, MDM such as JAMF and Intune
- Sarbanes Oxley, SOX experience is a plus
- Strong customer orientation and communication skills
- Ability to coach and guide users through basic computer tasks
- Extremely detail-oriented, organized, with excellent time management skills
- Working knowledge of AWS, GCP (e.g. with EC2 and S3)
- Experience maintaining automation and configuration scripts (BASH, PowerShell) as well as familiarity with Google Workspace API
- Experience in managing multi-site network infrastructure, e.g. subnetting, Vlan tagging, CLI management
- Experience with supporting executive staff members in person and remotely
