Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Payroll and Benefits Specialist to fully own and manage the end-to-end payroll and benefits administration for six locations across multiple states. This role requires an individual who takes complete responsibility for the payroll function – proactively identifying, troubleshooting, and resolving issues independently. The Ideal candidate will ensure our hourly and salaried workforce is paid accurately and on time while maintaining compliance with manufacturing-specific labor regulations, such as shift differentials and overtime rules. The ideal candidate must have recent hands-on experience with ADP Workforce Now.
Key Responsibilities

Manage bi-weekly payroll for hourly and salaried employees, including complex calculations for shift differentials, overtime, and bonuses.

Act as the primary administrator for the ADP Workforce Now (Next Gen) payroll platform, maintaining the integrity of employee data and utilizing the Time Labor Management (TLM) system.

Lead the administration of employee health, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) plans, and annual open enrollment.

Ensure strict adherence to federal and state labor laws (FLSA, ACA). Lead internal and external audits, including workers' compensation and 401(k) audits.

Manage the completion and filing of benefits compliance such as Plan Non-Discrimination testing, Form 5500, and Medical Spend Reporting.

Generate and analyze specialized payroll and HR reports for plant leadership to assist with labor cost analysis and budgeting.

Serve as the first point of contact for plant employees regarding pay discrepancies, tax withholdings, and benefits inquiries.

Serve as a subject matter expert in troubleshooting payroll and benefits software issues, ensuring timely resolution and minimal disruption to operation.

Drive the improvement and ongoing maintenance of internal controls to strengthen accuracy, compliance, and audit readiness
Required Qualifications

Minimum 3–5 years of high-volume payroll experience, preferably within a manufacturing or industrial environment.

Proficiency in payroll software, specifically ADP Workforce Now is required. Experience with ADP Workforce Now Next Gen is helpful. Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUPs, pivot tables) for data reconciliation.

Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Accounting, or Finance preferred; or equivalent practical experience.

Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) is a strong plus.

Strong understanding of multi-state tax jurisdictions, garnishments, and labor laws. High level of confidentiality and professional communication skills.
