The Senate Sergeant at Arms (SAA), Printing Graphics and Direct Mail (PGDM), is seeking a reliable and detail‑oriented Lead Logistics and Operations Specialist to support daily logistics functions and assist the Logistics and Operations Supervisor in coordinating warehouse and distribution activities across multiple facilities. This position plays a key role in ensuring the safe, accurate, and efficient movement of materials, equipment, and supplies in support of operational needs throughout the Capitol complex and surrounding areas.
The Lead Logistics and Operations Specialist supports the Supervisor by coordinating, scheduling, and monitoring daily work assignments to ensure smooth and efficient warehouse operations. Based primarily at the Capitol Hill location, this role also provides oversight at the Senate Support Facility (SSF) in Landover, MD, as needed. The Lead ensures that materials are properly received, inspected, and documented; inventory records are accurately maintained; and service requests are handled promptly and professionally. Serving as a key point of contact for Senate offices and staff, the Lead helps facilitate communication, resolve logistical challenges, and uphold high standards of customer service across all supported sites.
Key responsibilities include overseeing daily warehouse activities; monitoring material staging, delivery, and inventory processes; performing safety checks and equipment inspections; coordinating with Senate offices, Committees, and Support Offices on incoming requests; and supporting the Supervisor with operational oversight, workload adjustments, and employee guidance. The Lead helps maintain accurate documentation, ensures compliance with policies and procedures, and fosters a safe and organized work environment.
