The Licensed Funeral Director & Embalmer is responsible for providing compassionate, professional, and personalized funeral service to families while coordinating all aspects of at-need and preneed arrangements. Responsibilities include arranging and directing funeral and memorial services, embalming and preparing decedents, coordinating transportation and disposition, completing required documentation, and working with clergy, cemeteries, crematories, vendors, and other service providers.
The position requires compliance with all applicable federal and state laws, OSHA regulations, and company policies and procedures, as well as participation in an on-call rotation, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. The Funeral Director & Embalmer will also assist with staff coordination, public speaking, community outreach, preplanning education, and promotion of the funeral home, while supporting coworkers and maintaining funeral home facilities, equipment, and vehicles as needed.
Base Qualifications:
- Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in Mortuary Science
- Maintain a Kentucky Funeral Director and Embalmer’s license OR ability to reciprocate
- Must be able to work evenings and weekends
- Valid state issued driver’s license in good standing and acceptable driving record
- Ability to lift 75lbs+
