Our client is seeking a Quality Assurance Tester to join their team. The Quality Assurance Tester will be responsible for ensuring the successful implementation of new features as well as improvement of existing functionality across internal and external Web applications. This includes Integration testing, Customer Data Quality testing, Usability (Functional and Performance) testing, Regression testing, etc.
This is a hands-on testing position which requires deep knowledge and understanding of all aspects of creating test cases and executing Front-end as well as Back-end validation. The ideal candidate must possess strong analytical and critical thinking abilities. Exceptional Manual testing as well as Automated testing skills are required.
As a motivated and self-driven member of the Technology organization, the Quality Assurance Tester will be responsible for assuring consistent, high quality testing standards are utilized on all products and systems within the portfolio. The Quality Assurance Tester will interface with Product Owners, Business Analysts, Software Developers, End Users and Scrum Masters to deliver products with high quality and on schedule.
Responsibilities
- Develop comprehensive test cases and test plans based on detailed analysis of business requirements and technical specifications.
- Execute manual testing procedures on diverse applications, including mobile (Android and iOS) and web platforms, ensuring thorough coverage of functional, system, usability, and regression tests.
- Perform user acceptance testing (UAT) to validate that software solutions meet client needs and business goals.
- Identify, document, and track defects using defect tracking tools such as HP ALM or Jira; collaborate with developers to facilitate prompt resolution.
- Conduct root cause analysis on identified issues to determine underlying causes and suggest corrective actions.
- Verify bug fixes through re-testing and regression testing to ensure quality standards are maintained before release.
- Support automation efforts by creating test scripts using scripting languages like Python or JavaScript where applicable, enhancing efficiency for future testing cycles.
- Participate in Agile development processes, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives, contributing insights from testing activities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, clarify specifications, and improve overall quality assurance processes.
- Maintain detailed documentation of test cases, test results, and testing procedures aligned with SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle) best practices.
Experience
- Proven experience in manual software testing within an IT environment, with a strong focus on mobile applications (Android/iOS) and web-based systems.
- Familiarity with test automation tools such as Selenium WebDriver or Cucumber is a plus but not mandatory; a willingness to learn is essential.
- Hands-on experience with defect tracking tools like Jira or HP ALM; knowledge of version control systems such as Git or SVN is advantageous.
- Solid understanding of APIs (RESTful services), SQL databases (MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server), and data analysis skills for troubleshooting issues effectively.
- Knowledge of testing methodologies including functional testing, system testing, performance testing (LoadRunner), load testing, regression testing, and user acceptance testing (UAT).
- Experience working within Agile or Waterfall development environments; familiarity with CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins or Azure DevOps is desirable.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to perform root cause analysis and debugging; excellent attention to detail is a must.
- Technical proficiency in scripting languages such as Python or JavaScript; experience with tools like TestNG, JUnit, or Cucumber enhances your capabilities.
- Understanding of SDLC processes including requirements gathering, release management, and QA/QC standards ensures seamless integration into our development cycles.
- Effective communication skills for collaborating across teams and documenting complex issues clearly.
