Position Summary
Responsible for executing purchasing activities that support manufacturing and service operations. Manage purchase orders, maintain supplier relationships, expedite critical materials, resolve delivery issues, and coordinate with internal teams to ensure materials are available to support production schedules and customer commitments. Serve as the primary point of contact for suppliers and play a key role in maintaining continuity of supply.
Primary Responsibilities

Create, issue and manage purchase orders for production materials, components, consumables, and indirect supplies.

Monitor, expedite or delay purchase orders when required based on operational needs.

Maintain accurate supplier pricing, lead time, and purchase order information within the ERP system.

Communicate regularly with suppliers to confirm order status, shipment schedules, and delivery commitments.

Reconcile purchase order with receipts and resolve and drive corrective actions to resolve discrepancies with suppliers and internal stakeholders.

Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on purchasing efficiency, supplier performance, inventory management, and overall supply chain effectiveness.

Track and report on open orders, past due deliveries, supplier performance, and other purchasing metrics.

Assist with supplier onboarding, support sourcing activities, and supplier documentation as required.

Support cost savings initiatives by obtaining competitive quotes and identifying opportunities for cost reductions.

Communicate supplier delivery schedules and shipment updates to the warehouse team.

Coordinate with Quality department and suppliers to resolve supplier non-conformances and implement corrective actions.

Resolve material shortages, late deliveries, and supply disruptions to minimize impact on production schedules and customer commitments.

Maintain accurate lead time and cost data in procurement systems, supporting cost savings initiatives through data-driven purchasing decisions.
Requirements
Education & Experience

Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Minimum three (3) years of experience in procurement, sourcing, or supply chain management within a manufacturing or assembly environment.

Experience with ERP/MRP systems - managing purchase orders, supplier records, lead times, and material transactions.

Experience in creating and managing purchase orders and working directly with suppliers.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); experience with ERP systems.
