Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and EXPERIENCED QMAP/Caregiver to join our team in providing exceptional care and support to residents in a long-term care or assisted living environment. In this vital role, you will assist residents with their daily needs, ensure their safety and comfort, and promote a positive, engaging atmosphere. Your energy and empathy will help create a warm community where residents feel valued and cared for. Duties
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment such as DME when necessary
- Monitor and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature to track health status
- Administer medications accurately following prescribed protocols and document all medication activities using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems
- Provide specialized care for residents with dementia or Alzheimer's disease, implementing memory care strategies and behavior management techniques
- Support residents’ social engagement by facilitating activities, preparing meals. Laundry services, Housekeeping
- Maintain a clean and safe environment through regular cleaning duties and adherence to infection control procedures
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals, family members, and team members.
Requirements
Experienced with dementia highly preferred.
Willing to train anyone but must be a critical thinker
- Valid certification as a Qualified Medication Aide/Assistant (QMAP) or equivalent license preferred.
- Experience working in assisted living, nursing homes, or group homes preferred; home & community care experience is a plus
- Knowledge of dementia care, Alzheimer's care, memory care techniques, and behavior management strategies
- Ability to assist with ADLs effectively and compassionately while maintaining resident dignity
- Strong understanding of vital signs monitoring, medication administration, and long-term care practices
- Prior experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or disabilities is desirable
- Valid driver’s license for transportation.
- First aid certification is preferred; willingness to obtain if not already certified
