Duties
- Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations and mental health assessments for patients of all ages, including children and geriatrics.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans utilizing psychopharmacology, therapy, and other evidence-based interventions.
- Prescribe medications such as antidepressants, antipsychotics, and botulinum toxin treatments when appropriate, ensuring safe administration and monitoring.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care, including case management, discharge planning, and follow-up services.
- Manage telehealth consultations to extend mental health services across various locations while maintaining compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Document clinical encounters accurately using EMR systems like Epic, eClinicalWorks, or Athenahealth; ensure all medical records meet NCQA standards.
- Provide patient education on medication management, lifestyle modifications, and behavioral health strategies to promote recovery and resilience.
Skills
- Proven experience with psychiatric medication management including psychopharmacology principles.
- Strong knowledge of behavioral health assessment tools and diagnostic evaluation techniques aligned with ICD-10 coding standards.
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, or Athenahealth for efficient documentation.
- Ability to perform physical examinations and vital signs assessment within a psychiatric context.
- Experience working with diverse populations including children (pediatrics), seniors (geriatrics), individuals in assisted living or memory care facilities.
- Skilled in crisis intervention, triage procedures, acute pain management, and emergency psychiatric protocols in hospital or urgent care settings.
- Knowledge of Workers’ Compensation law, hospice & palliative medicine practices, infectious disease care considerations, and Level I & II trauma center protocols is advantageous. Pay: $111,524.02 - $134,308.50 per year
