Director of Security for a Private Family
An executive family in Miami Beach, Florida, is seeking an experienced Director of Security to oversee security for the family and properties. The ideal candidate will be exceptionally discreet, highly organized, safety-focused, and experienced leading a private household security program.
This full-time role is based primarily at the Miami residence, with responsibility for additional property locations. The Director of Security will manage the security team, security systems, protocols, travel-related risk planning, vendor relationships, and training for household staff.
Candidates must be fully bilingual in English and Spanish and licensed in Florida or able to qualify for applicable security licensing.
Responsibilities

Assume 360-degree responsibility for security for the family and their properties

Lead, develop, and schedule the 24/7 armed security team.

Demonstrate an authentic willingness to be hands on and step into coverage, assist with driving, and respond personally wherever needed.

Manage security systems, review procedures, assess risks, and make annual security recommendations

Create and maintain property-specific security and emergency manuals

Advise on travel risks and coordinate advance planning when needed

Liaise with emergency services, external security providers, vendors, and the family office

Lead training for security team and staff
Requirements

Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish required

Licensed in Florida or able to qualify for Class D, Class G, and Class M security licensing, as applicable

UHNW or private family experience required; bachelor’s degree a plus

Experience in security management, residential security, travel safety, executive protection, and risk assessment

Strong knowledge of residential security systems and emergency protocols

Demonstrates absolute discretion and has an executive presence

Highly organized, detail-oriented, professional, and dependable

Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Spanish

Long-term intent and comfort working in a private household environment

Must be comfortable working with large dogs

Able to legally work in the United States and perform the essential functions of the role with or without reasonable accommodation

Schedule
-
Full-time, year-round leadership role

Generally, at the main property 5 days/week.

Assume that you will work on some weekends

Schedule requires flexibility, including availability for urgent needs, emergencies, travel-related support, evenings, weekends, holidays, and occasional long days

Success in this role requires 24/7 responsiveness. You cannot see this as a Monday to Friday, 9 -5 role
Compensation & Benefits

Base compensation $275,000 to $325,000, commensurate with experience
