Primary Purpose of Position
To prepare and serve meals, in compliance with all relative health and safety codes and regulations, to the students, faculty, staff, and guests of Appalachian State University.
Minimum Qualifications
Experience in food preparation or service activities in a commercial kitchen; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

Essential Job Functions
Work in Sanford Commons unit primarily supporting Express to Go. Working different retail outlets and various positions to support the business need.
- Possess current knowledge of Health and Safety regulations and accident reporting.
- Coordinate all execution of Express to Go orders
- Help be a support to other retail outlets by being able to fill in for positions as needed.
- Must be able to operate independently with excellent time management.
All ASU Campus Dining employees are required to work during home football games or any other special campus event as needed. Campus work location may vary depending on the event.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Required for this Position
Great customer service skills,
Team player with great time management skills.
Ability to greet and serve customers when they approach service area.
Work a variety of food service venues and operate food service equipment to achieve goals of the Express to Go and as a support for the other retail outlets.
Follow procedures exactly to be sure job is done correctly.
The employee must interact effectively with coworkers and vendors of diverse ages, backgrounds, and interests and work as a team member under rushed conditions without losing efficiency or effectiveness.
Preferred Qualifications
Obtain ServSafe certification and Allergan Certification within 1 year of employment

Physical Demands of Position
Lifting items over 40 lbs. Stooping and bending to retrieve items from ovens, shelves, etc. Sweeping and mopping area each day. Scrubbing and cleaning of all equipment daily. This employee is required to stand on your feet for your entire 8-hour shift.
