Basic Qualifications and Experiences:
- Must be able to work weekdays, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Must have a valid Georgia Driver’s License.
- Must be able to follow all policies and procedures.
- Excellent mathematical, multitasking, and computer skills
- Experience operating small to med grounds crew equipment, rake, shovel, leaf blower, weed eater, mower, pressure washing machine, etc.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Mow, trim, edge, weed, blow, and maintain turf and landscaped areas.
- Plant, prune, mulch, fertilize, and care for trees, shrubs, flowers, and other vegetation.
- Assist with irrigation systems, including routine inspections, adjustments, and reporting needed repairs.
- Maintain sports fields according to facility schedules and field-use requirements.
- Remove litter, leaves, branches, and other debris from grounds and spectator areas.
- Prepare fields and surrounding areas for games, tournaments, and special events.
- Operate landscaping equipment such as mowers, trimmers, blowers, utility vehicles, and other grounds-maintenance tools safely.
- Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of equipment and report mechanical problems.
- Assist with seasonal landscaping projects and storm cleanup.
- Identify and report hazardous conditions, damaged equipment, irrigation problems, or areas requiring additional maintenance.
- Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Work cooperatively with other grounds, maintenance, and facility staff.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Grounds Supervisor or Sports Complex Manager.
Work Environment:
Most work takes place in an outdoor setting in a variety of weather conditions while standing, walking, bending, and lifting for long periods of time. Employee may operate a variety of small and medium equipment on a regular basis. The operation of some large equipment may also be necessary; ie golf cart, hand and fork lifts, synthetic turf cleaning machine, etc.
Work Hours:
Typically Monday - Friday 8am -5pm. Regular attendance is a necessary job function required for this position. Scheduled working hours vary depending on the season, program, or event. Early mornings, late evenings, holidays, or weekends are needed for this position.
Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, team members are regularly required to sit, walk and stand; talk or hear, both in person and by telephone; use hands repetitively to handle and operate standard office equipment; reach with hands and arms; and lift up to 50 pounds. Compensation:
Compensation is set at an hourly rate as a non-exempt employee.
