The Emergency Department is a 59-bed, high-volume unit designed to support a split-flow care model that optimizes patient throughput and aligns care with acuity. The department includes Vertical and Horizontal treatment zones, a Rapid Assessment Zone, Results Pending Area, and Inpatient Holding Area. Treatment spaces are organized across four care teams and include specialized rooms for trauma, resuscitation, behavioral health, isolation, decontamination, and forensic exams. The unit is equipped to manage low- to high-acuity patients, including those requiring continuous monitoring, advanced diagnostics, and extended care. Staffing models and room utilization adjust dynamically based on patient volume, acuity, and operational needs to ensure efficient, safe, and high-quality emergency care.
