About the role
LGX is hiring a Dispatch Manager to lead and coordinate our freight operations across both domestic and international lanes. You'll own the day-to-day movement of shipments, manage a team of dispatchers and drivers, and keep loads running on time, on budget, and in compliance. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who knows freight inside and out and can keep a fast-moving operation organized under pressure.
What you'll do
- Plan, assign, and route domestic and international freight to maximize on-time delivery and asset utilization
- Manage, coach, and schedule the dispatch team and drivers
- Coordinate with carriers, brokers, customers, and customs partners to resolve issues in real time
- Track shipments end to end and proactively communicate delays, exceptions, and ETAs
- Oversee documentation for international shipments (customs, bills of lading, commercial invoices, etc.)
- Monitor KPIs (on-time %, cost per load, driver utilization) and drive continuous improvement
- Handle escalations, after-hours issues, and problem loads with calm, decisive judgment
What we're looking for
- 3+ years of dispatch experience, with at least 1–2 years in a lead or management role
- Hands-on experience with both domestic and international freight
- Working knowledge of international shipping documentation and customs processes
- Familiarity with DOT/FMCSA regulations and hours-of-service rules
- Proficiency with TMS/dispatch software and standard office tools
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to stay composed and make fast decisions in a high-volume environment
- High school diploma or equivalent required
