Duties
- Prepare ingredients and assemble dishes according to standardized recipes and presentation guidelines
- Assist in food preparation tasks such as chopping, marinating, and portioning ingredients to ensure smooth kitchen operations
- Cook a variety of menu items with attention to detail, consistency, and food safety standards
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, including proper food handling and sanitation practices
- Support catering events by preparing large quantities of food and ensuring timely service
- Follow all health department regulations and safety procedures to uphold food safety standards
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to coordinate meal preparation, ensuring efficient service during busy periods
Experience
- Previous experience in a dietary department or dietary aide role is highly desirable
- Proven background in food preparation, cooking, or restaurant service within the food industry
- Familiarity with menu planning and meal assembly processes
- Strong knife skills and proficiency in various cooking techniques
- Knowledge of food handling, safety protocols, and sanitation practices
- Experience working in a fast-paced kitchen environment or catering setting is a plus
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team while maintaining high standards of quality and efficiency
