The Family Therapist is responsible for individual, family, group, and emergency crisis intervention counseling to victims and secondary victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking. The therapist will apply clinical techniques and strategies to evaluate, counsel, and guide individuals, and help clients to achieve personal wellness, career development, mental well-being, and healthy relationships.

- Provide individual and family counseling assessment to victims of domestic violence, sexual assault and human trafficking.
- Provide ongoing individual crisis counseling relative to trauma and recovery for adults and children.
- Facilitate weekly adult and child domestic violence support groups.
- Maintain up-to-date files on clients.
- Collect demographic data to maintain grant statistics.
- Coordinate and plan age-appropriate group counseling for children experiencing domestic violence.
- Evaluate the ongoing progress of each individual involved in counseling.
- When needed, consult with Noah Project staff members on clients referred to counseling services.
- Provide periodic training to Noah Project staff members on trauma-informed mental health needs and best practices.
- Develop working relationships with other mental health professionals and mental health facilities in our area in order to have a referral source for individuals who need more intensive treatment or a higher level of care.
- Provide individual, family and group counseling assessment and emergency crisis intervention for victims of domestic violence, sexual assault and human trafficking within rural service areas.
Preferred Minimum Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in counseling or therapy from an accredited college or university.
- Professional license in counseling or therapy.
- Experience in the field of domestic violence, sexual assault and human trafficking.
- Experience working with adults and children in crisis.
- Experience providing individual, family and group counseling for primary and secondary victims of domestic violence, sexual assault and human trafficking.
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Experience working with diverse populations and groups
- Strong organizational skills and time management
- Understands appropriate conflict resolution and demonstrates skill
- Strong clinical decision making
Salary: $47,840-$70,000 dependent on experience level and licensure status
