Duties
- Assist with preparing fresh sushi ingredients, including slicing fish and vegetables using proper knife techniques
- Support the sushi team in assembling sushi rolls according to established recipes and presentation standards
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of workstations, utensils, and kitchen equipment in compliance with food safety regulations
- Operate basic kitchen equipment such as rice cookers, slicers, and refrigeration units safely and efficiently
- Follow food handling protocols meticulously to ensure quality and safety standards are upheld at all times
- Help with meal preparation for dine-in or catering orders while adhering to recipe specifications
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth workflow and timely delivery of orders
Skills
- Previous experience in dietary departments or as a dietary aide is advantageous but not required
- Strong knowledge of food safety management and handling procedures in a restaurant setting
- Excellent communication skills for effective coordination with kitchen staff and team members
- Ability to operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently while maintaining high standards of cleanliness
- Demonstrated knife skills, slicing techniques, and attention to detail in food presentation
- Experience in food service or culinary environments that emphasize safety standards and recipe adherence
