Duties
- Prepare and serve a wide range of deli products, including sliced meats, cheeses, salads, and prepared foods with precision and care
- Operate POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS to process transactions efficiently and accurately
- Provide outstanding customer service by assisting shoppers with product selections, answering questions, and upselling items to enhance their experience
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in accordance with food safety regulations, including proper food handling and sanitation practices
- Restock shelves, organize displays, and ensure the deli area is inviting and well-maintained throughout the shift
- Manage cash handling responsibilities with accuracy, including cash register operations and balancing drawers at shift end
- Support food preparation tasks such as slicing, packaging, and assembling food items quickly to meet customer demand in a quick service or fast-food setting
Qualifications
- Previous experience in food service, grocery store, or retail environments is highly preferred; culinary or kitchen experience is a plus
- Strong knowledge of food safety standards, sanitation procedures, and proper food handling techniques
- Familiarity with POS systems like Aloha POS or Micros POS for efficient sales processing
- Excellent time management skills to handle multiple tasks swiftly during busy hours
- Ability to perform basic math for cash handling, retail math calculations, and inventory management
- Outstanding customer service skills with a friendly attitude that fosters positive interactions
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks such as lifting boxes or moving supplies as needed
