In 1964, Robert McCulloch opened the original Nautical Inn, with just 16 rooms, a cocktail lounge, and a 180-seat dining room overlooking Thompson Bay. Over the next several years, the hotel expanded to accommodate the Bay Rooms, Cove Suites, the Commodore, and Captain Suites. Today, we are a one-stop, iconic destination boasting 139 rooms (that all overlook the water), 3 Food and Beverage outlets, a convention center, private launch ramp, a waterpark and fun for everyone.
About the Role:
The Steward plays a vital role in maintaining cleanliness, organization, and overall operational efficiency within hospitality and food service environments. This position ensures that all dining and kitchen areas are kept sanitary and well-stocked, contributing directly to a positive guest experience. The Steward collaborates closely with kitchen and service staff to support smooth daily operations and uphold health and safety standards. By managing inventory and handling cleaning duties, the Steward helps prevent disruptions and supports a hygienic workplace. Ultimately, this role is essential in fostering a welcoming atmosphere and enabling the team to deliver exceptional service consistently.
Minimum Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent.

Previous experience in a similar role within hospitality, food service, or related industry preferred but not required.

Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physically demanding tasks.

Basic understanding of sanitation and safety standards in food service environments.

Must have f be able to obtain AZ Food Handlers Certificate

Strong work ethic and reliability.
Preferred Qualifications:

Experience working in fast-paced restaurant or hotel environments.

Familiarity with inventory management and stock control procedures.

Responsibilities:

Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen, dining, and service areas according to health and safety regulations.

Wash, sanitize, and organize dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment efficiently.

Assist in receiving, storing, and organizing food and supply deliveries to ensure proper inventory management.

Support kitchen and service staff by preparing workstations and replenishing supplies as needed throughout shifts.

Dispose of waste and recyclables properly, ensuring compliance with environmental and safety standards.

Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards promptly to management.
