Avail Staffing is actively looking for Marine Electrician Technicians I and II that will support shipyard operations by installing, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining electronic systems aboard various naval and commercial vessels. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in marine electronics, a commitment to safety, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented shipyard environment.
**Proficiency with MCT building is highly preferred and will take precedence over other candidates. DBIDS also preferred.
Marine Electrician – II
Position Summary:
The Marine Electrician II is responsible for supporting the installation and repair of shipboard electrical systems under the guidance of senior electricians. This role requires a good working knowledge of standard practices and tools.
Key Responsibilities:

Assist with the installation of conduit, cable trays, and shipboard wiring

Perform basic troubleshooting and component replacement

Install, build, pack, and seal Multi-Cable Transits (MCTs) in accordance with NAVSEA and shipyard specifications

Help test equipment and systems for functionality and safety

Interpret basic schematics and diagrams
-
Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition

Support safety initiatives and maintain a clean work area
Qualifications:

2–4 years of marine electrical experience

Ability to follow schematics and supervisor instructions

Knowledge of MCT systems such as Roxtec, Nelson, or equivalent

Basic knowledge of testing equipment and shipboard electrical systems

Familiar with safety procedures in a shipyard environment
Marine Electrician – I
Position Summary:
The Marine Electrician I is a position focused on gaining experience in shipboard electrical work. This role includes hands-on assistance with installations, pulling cable, and prepping components under close supervision.
Key Responsibilities:

Pull cable and assist with cable routing and termination prep

Install, build, pack, and seal Multi-Cable Transits (MCTs) in accordance with NAVSEA and shipyard specifications

Set up job materials and tools

Clean and prep areas for electrical installations

Shadow senior electricians and learn industry practices

Follow all safety protocols and contribute to a safe work environment
Qualifications:

1–4 years of electrical experience (marine experience preferred)
