Mental Health Technician - MHT - $1,500 SIGN-ON Bonus!
Compass Intervention Center is seeking a full-time, Mental Health Tech (MHT) for our 1st (7a-3:30p), 2nd (3p-11:30p), and 3rd (11p-7:30a) shift . The MHTs play a vital role in providing excellent care for our patients and are a member of the interdisciplinary team who assists in total client care through implementation of appropriate therapeutic approaches.
- Provide direct patient care within a multidiscipline team approach.
- Maintains a safe, therapeutic environment.
- Maintain accurate and complete data and records.
- Intervenes with suicidal gestures, inappropriate behaviors, elopements, etc., using proper HWC technique.
- Therapeutically communicate with patients. Assists in developing appropriate boundaries and helps to develop social skills.
- Directs/redirects behaviors, demonstrating appropriate behavioral consequences. Responds appropriately to impulsivity issues as they relate to age specific criteria.
- Recognize and communicate the physical and psychological status of the patients under their care.
- Completes other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:
Education and Training: High School diploma or equivalent, Prefer bachelor's degree or college courses in health care, mental health, recreational therapy, education, or human growth and development.
Licensure and/or Certification: CPR certification
Experience: No minimum required, Prefer one year's experience as a nurse's aide, mental health aide, psych aide, or the equivalent in a rehabilitation, psychiatric, or similar setting.
Physical/General: Sustain physical activity and remain on feet throughout scheduled shift. Lifting requirements are 50 lbs and SAMA training is required.
