The part-time position is responsible for instructing elementary school students in grades three through five in basic sports skills, focusing on skill development, teamwork, and sportsmanship. Coaches are responsible for teaching skills and students will not be competing during this program.

Teach basic sports skills, such as dribbling a basketball with both hands.

Develop ageappropriate lesson plans for skill progression. Coach may use YouTube for ideas.

Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Monitor and assess student progress in skill acquisition.

Ensure student safety during all activities.

Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school staff.

Maintain equipment and ensure it is used properly.

Effective communication skills.

Basic mathematical skills for attendance and statistics.

Ability to use basic computer software for recordkeeping.

Knowledge of sports rules and techniques.

Strong organizational and leadership skills.

High school diploma or equivalent.

Minimum of 1 year of experience in coaching or teaching sports to children.

Extensive experience playing sports at the high school, college, semiprofessional or professional level may be a substitute for coaching experience.

Ability to demonstrate physical sports skills.

Ability to stand for extended periods and engage in physical activity.

Ability to keep students engaged in program.

Indoor and outdoor environments, including gymnasiums and sports fields.

Exposure to varying weather conditions during outdoor activities.

Must be able to pass FBI/DOJ background check
