Finance Systems Accountant

Hewitt Foods is seeking a Finance Systems Accountant to support, maintain, and continuously improve our finance systems and ERP environment. This role serves as the key link between Finance, IT, and operational teams, ensuring financial systems remain secure, reliable, and aligned with business objectives. The successful candidate will play a critical role in supporting financial reporting, system governance, process automation, integrations, and continuous improvement initiatives across the organisation.
About the Role
As Finance Systems Accountant, you will combine strong accounting knowledge with technical systems expertise to optimise finance operations and support business growth. You will be responsible for the administration, governance, and enhancement of ERP and financial systems while partnering with stakeholders across multiple functions. This role offers the opportunity to lead system improvements, strengthen financial controls, and drive automation initiatives that improve efficiency and accuracy. You will work closely with Finance, IT, and external vendors to ensure data integrity, reporting effectiveness, and compliance requirements are consistently met. The position is ideal for a finance professional who enjoys solving complex problems and delivering practical business solutions through technology.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer, maintain, and support ERP and finance systems, including configuration, testing, upgrades, and user support.
- Lead system enhancements, reporting improvements, integrations, and automation initiatives.
- Manage system access, governance requirements, security protocols, and financial controls.
- Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities through system administration and issue resolution.
- Partner with Finance, IT, operations, and vendors to improve system performance and data integrity.
- Document processes, controls, and procedures while delivering user training and ongoing support.

You Will Bring
- Experience supporting and administering ERP and finance systems.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and internal controls.
- Demonstrated experience supporting system upgrades, implementations, or finance transformation initiatives.
- Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel capabilities and experience with reporting tools.
- The ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to both finance and non-technical audiences.
Work Environment
This is an on-site position located in the United States. The role involves regular collaboration with Finance, IT, operational teams, and external vendors. The successful candidate will work in a professional office environment with a strong focus on teamwork, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.
Preferred Qualifications
- CPA, CA, ACCA, CMA, or equivalent professional accounting qualification.
- Experience within manufacturing, food production, agriculture, or supply chain industries.
- Knowledge of automation tools, system integrations, and business intelligence solutions.
- Experience supporting enterprise-wide finance systems and ERP platforms.

Location & Work Arrangement
- This position is based on-site in Shelburne, Vermont (05482).
- Candidates must be able to commute daily to the Shelburne, Vermont office
- Relocation to the area prior to the start date is required if you are not currently local.
