Job Overview
We are seeking a dependable and safety-conscious CDL Driver to serve as an independent contractor for Sunday transportation routes, with additional opportunities available throughout the month as needed. This role is ideal for someone who values flexibility, professionalism, and serving the community by providing safe and reliable transportation.
Responsibilities
> Safely operate a bus for scheduled routes
> Transport passengers to and from designated locations
> Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections with digital forms using personal smart phone
> Maintain cleanliness and basic upkeep of the vehicle, sweeping the bus at the end of the day and emptying the trash can when needed
> Follow all applicable traffic laws, DOT regulations, and safety standards
> Provide a courteous and professional experience for all passengers
Requirements
> Valid CDL (Commercial Driver’s License) with appropriate endorsements (Passenger and School bus endorsement required)
> Must operate as an independent contractor (1099 tax form)
> Clean driving record with: No more than 2 moving violations in the past 2 years. No at-fault accidents within the past 2 years. No history of DUI/DWI.
> Ability to pass background check
> Ability to pass drug screening (if required)
> Pass Child Safety Training (free 1 hour, 1-time online course, provided by Dream Center. Ability to attempt multiple times)
> Reliable, punctual, and professional
> Strong communication and interpersonal skills
> Consistent availability on Sundays
Preferred Qualifications:
> Previous experience driving buses or passenger vehicles
>Experience working with churches, nonprofits, or community organizations
Schedule
> Primary: Sundays morning and afternoon routes
> Additional: As-needed opportunities during the month or for special events
