EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
This position supports computer systems, software, and network operations throughout the institution to ensure users can perform their work effectively. The role helps maintain reliable technology and provides hands on assistance with daily IT needs. As a Information Technology Generalist 1, you will perform the following duties:

User Support: Assist staff and inmates with computer hardware, software, and file transfers while identifying technology needs

Problem Diagnosis: Troubleshoot hardware and software issues, run diagnostic tools, and coordinate solutions with technical staff or vendors

System Configuration: Set up and install computers, software, and network components according to agency requirements

Inventory Maintenance: Track computer equipment, update records, and complete annual inventory reviews

Network Assistance: Troubleshoot connectivity issues, support LAN operations, and help maintain reliable network performance

Training Delivery: Provide instruction on hardware, software, and new systems for users throughout the institution

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

Full-time employment, 37.5-hour work week

Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.

Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.

Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $59,345.00 (before taxes).
