Position Summary
The strength of SERE specialists lies in their ability to prepare others for the critical Personal Recovery mission. Through expert instruction, they equip Airmen with the skills needed for survival, evasion, resistance, and escape in adverse conditions. You’ll train Airmen on everything it takes to survive the most remote and hostile terrain, including building shelters, procuring water, navigating land and mastering evasion techniques. When it comes to taking on the elements, you’re the go-to for helping our Airmen return home safely and with honor.

Qualifications
This job requires military service enlistment in the Air Force. The application is for a specific position within the Air Force. To be considered, you must meet the following requirements:
- Completion of high school or GED with 11th-grade reading level required
- ASVAB score of 55 or higher on General and a 55 or higher on the TAPAS
- Meet the minimums of the SERE Initial Fitness Test (IFT)
- Absence of any speech impediment and ability to read aloud and speak distinctly
- Ability to receive and maintain a “Top Secret” security clearance
- Completion of 7.5 weeks of Basic Military Training
- Must be a U.S. citizen between the ages of 17 and 42 on the date of enlistment
- Must be willing to relocate
