Duties
- Translate medical documents, legal texts, and technical materials from source language to target language with precision and cultural appropriateness
- Proofread and edit translations to ensure grammatical accuracy, consistency, and adherence to client specifications
- Interpret spoken communication during meetings, consultations, or legal proceedings to facilitate clear understanding among multilingual stakeholders
- Transcribe audio recordings of medical or legal content accurately for documentation purposes
- Utilize specialized knowledge of legal terminology and medical jargon to deliver high-quality translation services
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals, legal teams, and project managers to clarify context and ensure accurate translation outcomes
- Maintain organized records of translation projects, glossaries, and reference materials for ongoing quality assurance
Experience
- Proven experience as a bilingual linguist with a focus on medical or legal translation services
- Strong command of English and at least one additional language; fluency in multiple languages is highly desirable
- Demonstrated proficiency in translation tools and software relevant to medical and legal fields
- Knowledge of legal terminology, healthcare regulations, and technical translation standards
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey complex concepts clearly and effectively
- Experience proofreading, editing, interpreting, transcription, or linguistics work related to medical or legal content
- Prior experience working in a fast-paced environment requiring meticulous attention to detail and confidentiality
