Under the direction of the Quality Control Manager, the quality line inspector learns and applies the basic methods of inspection to consistently meet production rates.
This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities, as management may deem necessary from time to time.
- Be capable of reading, understanding and interpreting production prints
- Be capable of reading micrometers and other measurement tools
- Investigate non-conformances, initiate corrective actions.
- Sort orders for defects as needed
- Calibration of measurement test equipment for company and employees
- Perform First Piece Inspections as needed.
- Perform In-Process Inspections at machines as required
- Perform Final Inspections prior to shipment, inspect for conformity and complete ship tags. Issue non-conformities as needed.
- Learn & assist with customer P.O. reviews, creation of vendor instruction and In-process controls.
- Learn and assist with ISIR/PPAP documentation.
- Learn and assist with any ISO9001 documentation and requirements.
- Assist with any other Quality Dept. requirements.
- Maintain a clean, well-organized work area (5S strategy)
- Perform In-Process Inspections at machines
- Sort orders for defects if needed
- Assist with Quality Dept. Daily Responsibilities
- Perform pre-production First Piece Inspections as needed
- Maintain a clean organized work cart.
- Learn back-up responsibilities as designated
