Cole Surveying & Design, PA is seeking candidates for Survey Crew Leader.
Applicant will work as the leader of a survey crew performing boundary surveys, control surveys, topographic surveys, right of way/easement surveys, and construction staking for public and private clients.
Duties will include but are not limited to, the following: The primary duties include collecting survey field data, having a thorough understanding of features that need to be located for boundary surveys, topographical surveys, route surveys for water & sewer, elevation certificates, ALTA surveys, as-built surveys, etc., performing construction staking on residential housing, water and sewer lines, and commercial sites. Must have experience with field-to-finish linework and symbol coding. Work is performed outdoors in all kinds of terrain and vegetation and in extreme heat and cold weather, primarily in Western North Carolina with rare out-of-town travel.
Desired Qualifications:
- HS Diploma or G.E.D.
- 2+ years of progressive experience on a survey crew with actual experience as a Crew Leader
- Working knowledge of modern surveying equipment and proper field procedures
- Experience with RTK GPS required
- Experience with Robotic Total Station required
- Ability to set up and operate equipment
- Ability to perform detailed CoGo calculations with Trimble Access or equivalent
- Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with supervisors, subordinates, and related personnel
- Strong communication skills, technical skills, problem solver, hates mistakes, enjoys being outside, doesn't mind working alone, methodical, detail oriented, precise.
- Willingness to work flexible hours and/or overtime as needed
- Physical ability to work outdoors on project sites that may extend several miles in steep terrain, carry equipment, and walk throughout the day
- Valid NC drivers license with good driving record
