About the Role
Our client is seeking a knowledgeable, hands-on, and highly independent SAP Ariba Quality Engineer to join their QA and Release Management team. This is not a script-execution role. You will own end-to-end testing across SAP Ariba procurement applications and SAP S/4HANA procurement processes, often working with limited or evolving documentation and expected to figure things out independently.
The ideal candidate combines deep functional understanding of SAP procurement products with strong test automation capability, independent problem-solving, and full ownership of quality from sourcing through invoicing. If you thrive in ambiguity, ask the right questions, and drive quality across complex enterprise systems, this role is built for you.
What You'll Do
- Own and manage end-to-end testing for SAP Ariba and SAP S/4HANA procurement solutions
- Analyze product behavior, business workflows, and system changes to define test coverage even when formal documentation is limited
- Independently identify test scenarios, edge cases, dependencies, and integration impacts across procurement processes
- Develop, execute, and maintain manual and automated test cases for functional, regression, integration, and end-to-end testing
- Design and enhance a reusable test automation framework for SAP Ariba and related procurement applications
- Validate procurement workflows across requisitioning, sourcing, contracts, supplier lifecycle, buying, catalogs, invoicing, and supplier collaboration
- Identify, document, track, and follow up on defects and quality issues through resolution
- Support test planning, release validation, regression cycles, production readiness, and post-release verification
- Contribute to root cause analysis, issue triage, and resolution of application problems
- Mentor team members on QA best practices, product-based testing, and automation techniques
- Work as part of an agile DevOps team and help drive quality from both product and operational perspectives
What You'll Bring
Required:
- 5 or more years of experience in QA, test automation, or quality engineering
- 3 or more years of hands-on experience with SAP Ariba applications across upstream and downstream procurement areas (Sourcing, Contracts, Buying, Invoicing, Supplier Lifecycle, Catalog, Supplier Risk, or related modules)
- Experience with SAP S/4HANA procurement or procure-to-pay and source-to-pay processes
- Hands-on experience with Playwright using Java or JavaScript
- Strong experience creating test plans, test scenarios, test cases, and automation scripts
- Proven ability to work independently and define testing approaches with minimal documentation
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for investigating unclear system behavior
- Solid defect management, regression testing, and end-to-end validation experience
- Strong communication, organizational, and time-management skills
Preferred:
- Experience with SAP Business Network and procurement collaboration capabilities
- Familiarity with Cloud Integration Gateway (CIG) and SAP Ariba to S/4HANA integration touchpoints
- Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines
- Experience with Splunk, Dynatrace, or similar DevOps toolchains
- Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP cloud platforms
- Background in agile DevOps environments
- Experience supporting production readiness and operational continuity
