About the Role
We are seeking a passionate and qualified Preschool Teacher to help prepare children ages 3–5 for kindergarten in a nurturing and engaging learning environment. The ideal candidate is patient, creative, and dedicated to supporting children's social, emotional, and cognitive development through structured learning and play-based experiences.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement creative, age-appropriate lesson plans and curriculum.
- Use a variety of teaching methods, including storytelling, educational games, and hands-on activities.
- Observe, assess, and document each child's progress and development.
- Foster positive social interactions, kindness, and self-confidence among children.
- Teach foundational concepts such as shapes, numbers, colors, and basic art and craft skills.
- Supervise children during classroom activities, snack times, and rest periods while ensuring their safety.
- Monitor developmental milestones and communicate progress with parents and guardians.
- Build positive relationships with families to better understand each child's needs and background.
- Collaborate with fellow educators and external partners when appropriate.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom environment that complies with all health and safety regulations.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Preschool Teacher preferred.
- Strong knowledge of child development principles and early childhood education practices.
- Familiarity with childcare safety and sanitation standards.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and instructional skills.
- Ability to guide positive behavior and resolve conflicts effectively.
- Patient, dependable, and nurturing personality.
- Creative, resourceful, and skilled at problem-solving.
- Child CPR certification preferred.
- Must meet minimum OCFS Teacher Qualifications, including:
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education (ECE) or a related field; or
- Child Development Associate (CDA) credential in Preschool; or
- Current enrollment in a plan of study leading to an Associate's degree, Bachelor's degree, or CDA credential.
