Duties
- Feed, water, and monitor the health status of animals in accordance with established protocols
- Clean and disinfect kennels, cages, and common areas to ensure a sanitized environment
- Handle animals safely using proper restraint techniques to prevent injury or stress
- Assist with pet boarding, pet sitting, and daily animal care routines
- Provide gentle dog handling and training support to promote good behavior and comfort
- Perform outdoor work such as walking dogs, cleaning outdoor kennels, and supervising playtime
- Support veterinary staff with basic animal handling tasks and assist during medical procedures when needed
Skills
- Previous veterinary experience or veterinary technician experience is valued
- Strong animal handling skills with knowledge of animal behavior cues
- Experience in pet sitting, pet grooming, or animal care facilities is preferred
- Ability to lift heavy objects safely through team lifting techniques
- Excellent customer service skills to communicate effectively with pet owners and team members
- Knowledge of kennel cleaning procedures and pet boarding best practices
- Familiarity with pet grooming, animal restraint, and pet care facility sanitization standards
- Outdoor work experience demonstrating comfort working in various weather conditions
- Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining a positive attitude
