Job Overview
We are seeking an energetic and customer-focused Part Time Deli Clerk to join our team. In this role, you will be the friendly face behind our deli counter, preparing and serving fresh food items while delivering outstanding customer service. Your enthusiasm and efficiency will help create a welcoming environment for shoppers and ensure smooth deli operations.
Responsibilities
- Prepare a variety of deli foods including sandwiches, salads, and other fresh offerings with attention to quality and food safety standards
- Operate POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS for transactions, sales, and upselling opportunities
- Provide excellent customer service by assisting shoppers with product selections and answering questions about deli items
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the deli area, adhering to food handling and safety regulations
- Restock shelves, organize displays, and ensure the deli area is attractive and well-stocked throughout your shift
- Handle cash transactions accurately, including cash handling and basic math calculations for change or totals
- Support food preparation tasks such as slicing meats and cheeses, following proper sanitation procedures
Experience
- Previous experience in food service or retail grocery environments is preferred but not required; culinary or kitchen experience is a plus
- Familiarity with POS systems like Aloha or Micros is advantageous
- Strong time management skills to prioritize tasks efficiently during busy periods
- Knowledge of food safety standards and sanitation practices in a quick service or fast-food restaurant setting
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to upsell products and enhance the shopping experience
- Ability to handle cash accurately while maintaining a friendly attitude in a fast-paced environment
