What We Are Looking For:
Little Meadows Early Childhood Center is seeking New York State certified special education teachers to provide SEIT services to children ages 3 - 5 at preschools in Queens. We offer highly competitive salaries and benefits, professional development opportunities, and flexible schedules where teachers select cases based on availability and location.
Current available: 20 hrs+ for September in the Fresh Meadows, Douglaston, Bayside areas.
Our reimbursement rates start at $80 per hour. Group of 2 starts at $110 per hour.
Responsibilities:
- Work 1 to 1 with children, ages 3-5 years, with developmental delays
- Travel to children's daycare, preschool, or home to provide instruction and support
- Collaborate with the family and a multi-disciplinary team to develop goals and outcomes for children
- Work with family members as needed on different intervention strategies to facilitate active involvement at home
- Maintain proper documentation to comply with state and city regulations
- Conduct necessary assessments and write comprehensive reports as required by NYC DOE and NYSED
- Serve as the Coordinator of Services for each child, as mandated by the NYC DOE
Requirements:
- Valid NYS Teacher Certification: Student with Disabilities, Birth - Grade 2, OR
- Certified Special Education Teacher (Permanent)
- Available to take on a case or cases totaling at least 10 hours per week
- Not directly employed by the New York City Department of Education in the past 2 years
Preferred:
- 2+ years SEIT or special education experience
