KTS Mental Health Group provides wrap around mental health services for clients including PRP, therapy, medication management, afterschool programs and psychological testing to generate the best support and outcomes for clients. You'll be a key player in breaking down barriers that interfere with their daily lives and supporting them in achieving their goals.
Your responsibilities (among others) are to:
- Provide assistance to children to develop age-appropriate skills such as communication, self-control, social interaction and relationship building, independence, cultural interests, medication monitoring, and individual wellness self-management.
- Provide transportation (in company vehicles) for therapeutic activities to our clients.
- Provide activities and mentorship that will advance their progress towards their goals.
- Provide careful and detailed documentation of activity and progress for each session with the client on a weekly basis.
- Responsible for writing the IRP (individual Rehabilitation Plan) under the supervision of a Rehab Specialist and implementing the rehabilitation activities outlined in the IRP.
- Participate in ongoing on-site and off-site sessions with client with a minimum of 3 sessions per month.
- Observe and report to Rehabilitation Specialist observations of client’s behavior and progress towards goals
- Set goals for clients in conjunction with the assigned therapist's goals. Work in full collaboration with the child's therapist, doctor, and family to generate the best outcome for the client.
- Escalate all high-risk client incidents to the Medical Director.
- Conduct and document onsite and offsite psychoeducational groups.
- Responsible for teaching community skills including Activities of Daily Living as needed.
Job Requirements:
- At least 1 year related experience with clients in a position such as case management, direct care worker, mentoring, etc.
- Bachelors degree in human services related field
- Knowledge of community resources
- Ability to work independently and on a team.
- Excellent writing and communication skills
- Age 21+
- A clean drug test and background check record
- A valid driver's license (driving record will be checked)
- Empathetic and caring
- Ability to set and maintain appropriate boundaries
- CPR/First Aid certified
Job Preferences (but not required):
- some mental health experience
- 2+ years as a PRP counselor
