Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A Driver to join our dynamic transportation team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating tractor-trailers and various specialized trucks to deliver freight efficiently and reliably. Your expertise in handling different types of trailers—including refrigerated, flatbed, tanker, dump truck, roll-off truck, and freight loads—will ensure timely deliveries across diverse routes. Responsibilities
- Safely operate tractor-trailers with manual transmission across designated routes, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Load and unload freight using forklifts or other equipment as needed, ensuring proper handling of cargo such as refrigerated goods, flatbed loads, or tanker contents.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of trucks and trailers to identify maintenance needs or safety concerns.
- Manage route driving efficiently, optimizing delivery schedules while maintaining compliance with hours-of-service regulations.
- Assist with securing loads on flatbeds or tanker trailers, ensuring cargo stability during transit.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers regarding delivery schedules, delays, or issues encountered on the road.
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, mileage, fuel consumption, and delivery documentation in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
Experience
- Valid CDL Class A license with a clean driving record.
- Proven experience operating commercial trucks with manual transmissions.
- Demonstrated ability to drive various types of trailers including refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, dump trucks, and roll-off trucks.
- Prior delivery driver experience involving freight handling, load & unload procedures, and route driving.
- Familiarity with forklift operation for loading/unloading cargo is preferred.
- Knowledge of safety protocols related to trucking operations and cargo securement standards.
