Job Summary for CT Technologist
Winston Staffing, a JC certified staffing agency with over 50 years of working with allied health professionals has multiple contract assignments for experienced CT Technologists. We have opportunities in Manhattan, Brooklyn, the Bronx, Long Island and Westchester. All shifts and weekend opportunities are available. Ability to administer contrast injection is highly preferred/required.
Responsibilities for CT Technologist
- Prepare patients for CT scans by explaining procedures, positioning them correctly, and ensuring their comfort and safety.
- Operate CT equipment to acquire high-quality images for diagnostic evaluation, adhering strictly to aseptic techniques and radiation safety protocols.
- Collaborate with physicians and radiologists to determine appropriate imaging protocols based on clinical indications.
- Maintain detailed records of procedures performed, patient information, and technical parameters for accurate documentation.
- Support other medical imaging modalities such as X-ray, mammography, DEXA scans, PET scans, sonography, and nuclear medicine procedures as needed.
- Ensure all equipment is properly maintained, calibrated, and compliant with safety standards.
- Demonstrate proficiency in diagnostic radiology principles and interpret basic image quality issues or anomalies.
- Uphold strict infection control practices and aseptic techniques during all procedures to protect patients and staff.
Experience for CT Technologist
- Minimum 1 year of relevant experience.
- Proficient in EMR, RIS, HIS, PACS, Modality specific software (required).
- Familiarity with urgent care environments requiring rapid assessment and imaging turnaround times.
- Knowledge of medical terminology relevant to diagnostic radiology and patient care.
- Experience performing diagnostic evaluations involving anatomy knowledge across various body systems.
- Proven ability to operate CT scanners efficiently while maintaining high standards of image quality.
- Strong understanding of radiation safety principles and aseptic techniques essential for patient safety.
Required Qualifications or CT Technologist
- Graduate of an accredited Radiography Program
- NYS Licensure in Radiography and certified by NYS to inject contrast media
- ARRT Cert in Radiography and Computed Tomography
- HS Diploma or GED
