Duties
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival, manage reservations, and seat customers efficiently to minimize wait times
- Assist with food expediting by coordinating between kitchen staff and servers to ensure timely delivery of orders
- Support food preparation tasks as needed, maintaining cleanliness and organization in the service area
- Communicate clearly with kitchen staff regarding order accuracy, special requests, and timing to uphold high-quality service
- Clear tables promptly by bussing dishes, resetting tables for new guests, and maintaining a tidy dining environment
- Operate POS (Point of Sale) systems accurately for order processing and payment handling
- Assist in food handling and safety practices to ensure compliance with health regulations and standards
Skills
- Strong communication skills to effectively liaise between kitchen staff, servers, and guests
- Previous food service or restaurant experience preferred; familiarity with food expediting and preparation is a plus
- Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently during busy hours
- Knowledge of food safety protocols and proper food handling techniques
- Ability to work quickly and accurately using numeracy skills for order accuracy and POS transactions
- Experience in hospitality settings such as hotels or banquet services is advantageous
