Overview
Join our compassionate team as a Dementia Caregiver, where your dedication and expertise will make a meaningful difference in the lives of seniors living with memory impairments. In this vital role, you will provide personalized care, support clients daily activities, and foster a safe, respectful environment that promotes dignity and independence. Your energy and positive attitude will help create a warm, engaging atmosphere where clients feel valued and cared for every day. This is for a female client who requires 24 hour care. Shifts will be 8am-8pm or 8pm-8am three days a week. Every other weekend is required.
Duties
- Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility support.
- Monitor and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature to ensure her health stability
- Medication reminders
- Implement behavior management strategies tailored to her dementia disabilities to promote calmness and cooperation
- Help with meals, including feeding assistance
- Conduct regular safety checks around the her home, including cleaning common areas and the clients bedroom and bathroom to maintain a hygienic environment
- Engage in social activities and meaningful interactions to enhance her emotional well-being and reduce feelings of isolation
Skills
- Proven experience in senior care settings such as assisted living, nursing homes, or personal care homes with a focus on dementia or memory care
- Knowledge of Alzheimer's care principles and techniques for working with individuals with disabilities or developmental challenges
- Ability to perform first aid procedures confidently and respond effectively in emergency situations
- Familiarity with EMR systems for accurate documentation of resident care activities
- Competence in vital signs measurement, medication administration, and use of assistive devices like Hoyer lifts
- Strong communication skills to collaborate with team members, residents, families, and healthcare professionals
- Valid driver’s license for transportation needs within community care or home & community care environments

Pay: $17.00 per hour
