Fabrication Technician
Reynard, a manufacturer of thin film coated optical products for a variety of markets including Aerospace, Medical, Defense, Imaging, Automotive, and general R&D, has an immediate opening for a Fabrication Technician.
The candidate must possess a solid understanding of basic math and be motivated to excel. Working knowledge of simple mechanics and best-practice production / manufacturing fundamentals is preferred but not required, as training will be provided.
Requirements:
- US Person as defined by 22 CFR 120.15 (Citizen, Permanent Resident)
- High school diploma, or equivalent.
- Excellent communication skills with fluency in compositional and conversational English.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time.
- Ability to lift/carry at least 20lbs.
- Use of safety glasses and gloves/PPE.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Preferred Experience and Skills:
- Knowledge of basic processing steps of optical fabrication to achieve desired results
- Experience in a manufacturing environment
- Setup and operation of conventional optical grinding and polishing equipment
- Ability to read and interpret schematics, mechanical drawings, and requirements from customer specifications.
- Critical and risk-based thinking
- One or more years of experience in conventional optical fabrication
- One or more years of experience handling precision mechanical parts.
- Ability to accurately use a variety of precision metrology hand tools including calipers, drop gauges, micrometers, and comparators.
- Ability to set up and take measurements on metrology systems such as microscopes.
- Perform mathematical calculations using formulas, conversions, and ratios.
- Ability to multitask.
- Works effectively without direct supervision.
Responsibilities:
- Perform various optical fabrication processes including but not limited to beveling, milling, dicing, blocking, grinding, polishing, edging, inspection/measurements, and cleaning of optical components.
- Inspect and clean finished parts.
- Perform surface quality inspections and validate compliance to stated requirements.
- Set up and maintain processing and metrology equipment.
- Adjust machine performance to achieve optimal functionality and processing.
- Measure optical parts using optical metrology equipment to determine compliance, including hand tools.
- Document results accurately in inspection reports.
- Work within ISO9001 Quality Management System.
- Additional duties as assigned by Manager/Supervisor.

Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour
