Bellwether Mechanical Systems, Inc. is seeking an experienced Commercial HVAC Installer to join our growing team. We are a commercial HVAC mechanical contractor specializing in the installation, replacement, retrofit, service, and maintenance of commercial mechanical systems and controls.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Install, replace, and retrofit commercial HVAC equipment and associated mechanical systems
- Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, shop drawings, and mechanical plans
- Install ductwork, piping, equipment supports, condensate systems, and controls components
- Set and connect rooftop units, split systems, package units, chillers, boilers, pumps, and related equipment
- Perform equipment change-outs and tenant improvement projects
- Coordinate with project managers, foremen, subcontractors, and customers to ensure quality installation and timely project completion
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment while following all company and OSHA safety requirements
- Accurately document work performed and communicate project progress
- Troubleshoot installation issues and ensure systems are installed according to manufacturer specifications and project requirements
Work will be performed on cooling towers, boilers, pumps, VFDs, chillers, WSHPs, splits systems, package units, four-pipe fan coils, VAVs, and VRF systems.
Experience:
- 5+ years’ experience in commercial HVAC service
- EPA Certification required
- Good communication skills
- Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to read and interpret schematics, blueprints, various types of drawings
- Clean DMV record and a valid California Driver’s License
- Ability to safely lift to 50 lbs.
- Climb and balance on a ladder, and work in elevated/high locations in hot/cold conditions
- Basic hand tools and meter
- Excellent customer relations and interpersonal skills
- May be required to perform after-hours calls within a rotation
