Overview
Wusong Tiki Bar, a award wining bar and restaurant located in Cambridge MA, is seeking a passionate and skilled Sous Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in maintaining the high standards of our kitchen while assisting the Head Chef in managing daily operations. This position requires a strong foundation in Asian and South East Asian culinary techniques, food management, and a commitment to delivering exceptional dining experiences.
Duties
- Assist the Head Chef in menu planning, ensuring creativity and seasonal relevance.
- Supervise kitchen staff and oversee food preparation to maintain quality and consistency.
- Manage food service operations during shifts, ensuring efficiency and adherence to health regulations.
- Coordinate catering services for events, working closely with clients to meet their needs.
- Train and mentor junior kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
- Monitor inventory levels and assist in ordering supplies as necessary to ensure smooth operations.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, adhering to safety standards at all times.
Experience
- Experience in a culinary role, preferably within a restaurant or catering environment.
- Experience in supervising kitchen staff and managing shifts effectively.
- Familiarity with menu planning and food preparation techniques is essential.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs unassisted
- Must be able to stand and work on their feet for 8-10 hours per shift
- Must be able to work in hot and cold environments, including refrigerated areas
