- Prepares the courtroom for jury trial.
- Takes attendance for jurors reporting for duty, keeps jurors together during breaks.
- Prepares jury and courtroom for deliberation.
- Orders meals for deliberating jurors.
- Distributes court calendars and files; tracks parties to case files.
- Prepares courtrooms for court proceedings; checks in on attorneys and clients.
- Draws juries, secures, sequesters and escorts jurors to the courtroom.
- Assists judges in coordinating court proceedings by retrieving documents and photocopying materials.
- Acts as a liaison between judges, juries, attorneys, and witnesses.
- Receives, records, tracks, and secures court exhibits.
- Maintains order in courtroom during trial and guards jury from outside contact.
- Enforces courtroom rules of behavior and warns persons not to disturb court procedures.
- Announces entrance of judge.
