Title: Coordinator of Student Behavioral Health Services

Position Overview
Roxbury Community College (RCC) seeks a Coordinator of Student Behavioral Health Services to establish culturally responsive on-campus counseling services tailored to the diverse needs of RCC students. As part of the Wellness Center, the Coordinator will help implement a holistic approach to student wellness, focusing on mental health services, education and awareness, and wellness programming. The coordinator will provide clinical oversight, deliver direct counseling, and promote mental health resources, contributing to an inclusive and supportive campus environment.
Key Responsibilities
Direct Counseling:
- Provide one-on-one counseling for students, including short-term psychotherapy and crisis intervention.
Behavioral Intervention:
- Serve as a key member of RCC's CARE Team, responding to reports, identifying appropriate interventions, and facilitating counseling and referrals.
Outreach and Training:
- Assist in campus-wide mental health outreach and provide training for faculty, staff, and students on mental health awareness and topics such as trauma-informed care, stress management, and suicide prevention.
Psychoeducational Groups:
- Facilitate support groups and workshops to address student needs and enhance overall mental well-being.
Collaborative Programming:
- Work with Student Life, Student Accessibility Services, and other campus offices to support an inclusive, equitable campus climate and develop wellness-related programming (e.g., meditation, yoga, nutrition).
Program Evaluation:
- Assess the efficacy of mental health services, using data to inform improvements and best practices.
Crisis Management:
- Provide emergency mental health interventions for students in crisis, recommending appropriate interventions and follow-up care.
Documentation:
- Document all services, ensuring student touchpoints such a short-term therapy, clinical case management, and walk-ins are recorded in a secure environment.
Campus Integration:
Foster relationships across departments, including but not limited to, Project Access, Faculty, Advising, and Public Safety, to create an environment that promotes student growth and mental wellness.
Other Responsibilities
- Serve on College committees as needed.

Job Requirements:
Requirements
- Education: Master's degree or higher in Social Work, Psychology, or Counseling Psychology; LCSW or pre-licensure LMHC preferred.
Experience
- Minimum three years of clinical experience in mental health counseling.

Experience facilitating support groups and psychoeducational programming.
Skills
- Demonstrated clinical expertise, and the ability to manage crisis interventions.

Strong understanding of the ethical and legal aspects of campus therapy.

Experience working with BIPOC, LGBTQ+, communities, and students facing complex mental health issues.

Expertise in trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and evidence-based practices.

Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Education: Must have appropriate credentials such as pre-licensure LMHC or LCSW.
