- Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling, polishing, and fluoride treatments to ensure optimal oral health.
- Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical history, vital signs, and current dental conditions to tailor personalized care plans.
- Take X-rays while maintaining strict infection control and aseptic techniques.
- Manage electronic medical records (EMR systems) like Open Dental accurately, ensuring proper documentation review and data entry.
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to promote lifelong dental health.
- Adhere to HIPAA regulations and maintain confidentiality of all patient information while supporting compliance with healthcare standards.
Requirements
- Valid dental hygiene license in accordance with state regulations.
- Proficiency in dental terminology, and documentation review processes.
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, infection control protocols, and aseptic techniques essential for safe practice.
- Experience with EMR systems such as Open Dental is highly desirable.
- Excellent patient care skills with the ability to assess patient needs effectively and communicate clearly.
