Position Summary
The Mobile Childcare Teacher is a dependable, flexible, and experienced early childhood professional who provides classroom coverage and educational support across multiple childcare centers throughout the Raleigh-Durham region.
Rather than being permanently assigned to one classroom or center, the Mobile Childcare Teacher serves as a regional support teacher, stepping in where coverage is needed due to staff absences, enrollment changes, training, vacations, or other operational needs.
This position is ideal for an individual who enjoys variety, working with different age groups and teaching teams, and making a positive impact wherever support is needed.
The Mobile Childcare Teacher is expected to maintain a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment while following all applicable North Carolina childcare licensing regulations, company policies, curriculum requirements, and health and safety standards.
Schedule & Availability Requirements
This position provides flexibility in the days you work while requiring flexibility in your daily hours and location.
- You may choose the days of the week you are available to work, based on the staffing needs of the region.
- On the days you select, you must be available to work a full 8-hour shift.
- Your shift will be scheduled between the hours of 8:00 AM and 6:00 PM.
- You are not able to choose your specific start and end time. Your daily schedule will be determined based on the staffing needs of the assigned center.
- You may be assigned to different childcare centers throughout the Raleigh-Durham region.
- You must have reliable transportation and be willing and able to travel to your assigned center.
- Your assigned center and hours may vary from day to day.
- Advance notice of your schedule and location will be provided whenever possible.
- The ability to travel between Cary, Holly Springs, Morrisville, Knightdale, Durham, Raleigh, Apex, Garner, Wake Forest, and Clayton is an essential requirement of this position.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Previous experience working in a licensed childcare center or early childhood education setting preferred.
- Early Childhood Education coursework, CDA, or equivalent experience preferred.
- Must meet all applicable North Carolina childcare licensing requirements.
- CPR/First Aid certification preferred or willingness to obtain.
- Must successfully complete all required background checks and employment screenings.
- Must have reliable transportation and the ability to travel throughout the Raleigh-Durham region.
- Must be available for a full 8-hour shift between 8:00 AM and 6:00 PM on selected workdays.
- Must be comfortable working with different age groups and classroom environments.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to adapt quickly to changing classroom and staffing needs.
- Ability to work independently while also functioning effectively as part of a team.
Essential ResponsibilitiesClassroom & Childcare Responsibilities
- Provide classroom coverage at various childcare centers throughout the Raleigh-Durham region.
- Work with children ranging from infants through school-age, depending on center needs.
- Provide a safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate learning environment.
- Maintain appropriate teacher-to-child ratios at all times.
- Practice active supervision and ensure the safety and well-being of every child.
- Follow classroom schedules, routines, lesson plans, and curriculum expectations.
- Implement engaging, age-appropriate learning activities.
- Support children's social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development.
- Assist with daily routines, including diapering, toileting, meals, nap/rest time, transitions, outdoor play, and hygiene.
- Build positive, nurturing relationships with children.
- Provide individualized attention and support based on each child's needs.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary classroom.
Pay: $16.00 - $19.00 per hour
