Join our manufacturing team as a Production Operator – Finishing & Semi-Finishing Department! In this role, you will be responsible for operating production equipment and performing finishing and semi-finishing processes to convert high-density material blocks into finished or semi-finished planks. This position requires a dependable, safety-focused, and detail-oriented individual who can thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while maintaining quality, productivity, and safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Set up, operate, monitor, and shut down production equipment following work instructions and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Process high-density material blocks through cutting, gluing, perforating, trimming, packaging, and related finishing operations.
- Monitor machine settings and production flow to ensure efficient operation and minimize downtime or product defects.
- Perform repetitive production tasks while maintaining productivity and quality standards.
- Maintain consistent workflow in assembly-line style production processes.
- Perform in-process quality inspections to ensure products meet company and customer specifications.
- Use measuring and inspection tools including standard and metric tape measures, calipers, depth gauges, and calculators.
- Read and interpret measurements accurately to verify product dimensions and specifications.
- Enter inspection results, production data, and operational information into computer systems accurately.
- Identify, report, and segregate non-conforming materials or products.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment following 5S and housekeeping standards.
- Follow all Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) policies and wear required PPE in a high-dust manufacturing environment.
- Report unsafe conditions, equipment issues, or safety concerns immediately.
- Assist with basic preventive maintenance and support maintenance teams during repairs or equipment changeovers.
- Work collaboratively with supervisors, quality personnel, maintenance teams, and co-workers.
- Support overtime production needs, including frequent Saturday work as required.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of manufacturing, production, warehouse, or assembly-line experience preferred.
- Ability to read standard and metric measurements accurately.
- Experience using measuring and inspection tools such as calipers, tape measures, and depth gauges.
- Basic computer and data entry skills required.
- Basic math and calculator skills.
- Reliable transportation required.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Strong safety awareness and adherence to company policies.
- Dependable attendance and strong work ethic required.
- Ability to lift, move, push, or pull materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand, walk, and perform repetitive movements throughout the shift in a fast-paced production environment.
- Employment offers are contingent upon successful completion of a drug screen and background check. This requirement is especially critical for safety-sensitive roles.
Schedule
- We have two openings: (2:00 PM – 10:00 PM) or (10:00 PM - 6:00 AM)
- Frequent Saturday overtime required based on production demands
Compensation
- Second Shift (2:00 PM – 10:00 PM): Starting pay is $17.00 per hour. Employees are eligible for wage increases as they successfully complete and demonstrate proficiency in the required skill levels.
- Third Shift (10:00 PM – 6:00 AM): Starting pay is $18.00 per hour. Employees are eligible for wage increases as they successfully complete and demonstrate proficiency in the required skill levels.
Pay: $17.00 - $18.00 per hour
