Overview
We are seeking a passionate and energetic Dietary Aide to join our team! In this vital role, you will assist in meal preparation, food service, and maintaining a clean, safe kitchen environment. Your enthusiasm and attention to detail will ensure our children receive nutritious meals in a cheerful setting, contributing to their health and happiness.
Duties
- Assist with menu planning and meal preparation according to dietary guidelines and recipes
- Prepare food using proper cooking techniques, including slicing, chopping, and portioning
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently to support food production
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen areas by cleaning utensils, surfaces, and food prep zones regularly
- Follow food safety standards in handling, storage, and serving food to prevent contamination
- Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to coordinate meal service times and special dietary needs
- Support food handling procedures during catering events or special meal services
Experience
- Previous experience working in dietary departments or as a dietary aide is preferred
- Knowledge of menu planning, food preparation, and cooking techniques
- Experience with cleaning protocols and maintaining hygiene standards in a kitchen setting
- Familiarity with operating kitchen equipment such as ovens, mixers, slicers, and refrigerators
- Background in food service within restaurants or the food industry is advantageous
- Understanding of safety standards related to food handling and production processes
- Culinary experience including knife skills, slicing techniques, and recipe adherence is highly valued
