Position Summary
The Human Resources Generalist / Recruiter supports ODU-USA's talent acquisition and human resources operations. This role is responsible for full-cycle recruiting, employee engagement programs, HRIS administration, payroll support, onboarding, and day-to-day employee and manager support. The ideal candidate is a hands-on HR professional with 3-5 years of experience who enjoys balancing recruiting with general HR responsibilities in a fast-paced manufacturing and business environment.
Primary Responsibilities
Talent Acquisition & Recruiting

Manage full-cycle recruitment for exempt and non-exempt positions.

Partner with hiring managers to develop recruiting strategies and sourcing plans.

Post positions, source candidates, screen resumes, conduct phone interviews, and coordinate interview processes.

Manage applicant tracking system activities and maintain candidate records.

Facilitate offer preparation, background checks, and pre-employment activities.

Develop talent pipelines for critical and recurring positions.

Monitor recruiting metrics including time-to-fill, source effectiveness, and hiring manager satisfaction.

Support employer branding initiatives and represent the company at recruiting and networking events.
Employee Engagement & Culture

Lead employee engagement initiatives, recognition programs, and company events.

Coordinate employee feedback programs, surveys, and action planning.

Partner with leadership to support company culture and employee experience efforts.

Assist with communication and rollout of employee programs and HR initiatives.

Support onboarding programs that promote successful employee integration.
HRIS & Payroll Support

Maintain employee data within the HRIS system.

Support payroll processing activities and audits to ensure accuracy.

Assist with employee changes including hires, transfers, promotions, compensation updates, and terminations.

Generate HR reports and workforce metrics as requested.

Support benefits enrollment, employee changes, and open enrollment activities.
HR Generalist Responsibilities

Provide guidance to employees and managers on HR policies and procedures.

Support performance management processes and annual review cycles.

Assist with employee relations issues and workplace investigations.

Coordinate leave of absence and workers' compensation administration.

Support compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws.

Assist with policy implementation, process improvements, and special HR projects.

Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required

Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.

3-5 years of Human Resources experience, including recruiting responsibility.

Experience managing full-cycle recruitment.

Experience supporting HRIS and payroll processes.

Strong interviewing, communication, and relationship-building skills.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office and HRIS platforms (UKG experience preferred).

Knowledge of California employment laws and HR compliance practices.
Preferred

Manufacturing, distribution, or operational business experience.

Experience with employee engagement and culture-building initiatives.

SHRM-CP or PHR certification.

Compensation
The salary range for this role is $70,000 to $90,000 plus bonus potential; however, ODU considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
