American Traveler is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist with spine and total joint experience for a 13-week acute care hospital assignment.

Work in an acute care hospital surgical services department with 212 staffed beds
-
Day shift schedule with 3x12-hour shifts (options include 06:30-19:00 and 10:30-23:00)
-
On-call requirements include 23:00-07:00 and 07:00-07:00 shifts with a 30-minute response time
-
Call rotation averages approximately 3 weekdays and 2-3 weekend days within a 6-week pay period
-
Weekend shifts required and may exceed an every-other-weekend rotation to meet unit needs
-
Weekend/holiday on-call shifts include 07:00-19:00 and 07:00-07:00

Block scheduling cannot be accommodated

Required case types include general, ortho, ortho/spine, ortho/total joints, urology, endo/laparoscopic, vascular, gyn, abdominal hysterectomy, C-sections, dilation & curettage, laparoscopic assisted gynecological procedures, and vaginal hysterectomy

Preferred case experience includes ophthalmology, plastics, podiatry, ENT, and robotic-assisted gynecological procedures

Utilizes the Da Vinci Xi surgical robotic system

Epic EMR experience preferred
-
May float to a sister facility's Outpatient Surgery Pavilion as needed (3 OR suites)

Scrubs are provided for OR staff

Minimum of 2 years of experience required
-
First-time travelers considered with 3+ years of experience
-
BLS certification required
-
CST certification required
-
NBSTSA or NCCT national certification required
-
Scrubbing experience and inpatient experience required

Spine and total joint experience required
-
Compact license must be in hand at time of consideration, if applicable

2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting required for consideration

Perform scrubbing duties across a wide range of surgical specialties including general, orthopedic, spine, urology, vascular, and gynecological procedures

May be required to float between sister facilities to support staffing needs

Local candidates accepted within a 50-mile radius

Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a travSpencer and must not reside within 50 miles of the facility

Must be willing to work 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
