GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION
Philadelphia Presbyterian Preschool is a ministry of Philadelphia Presbyterian Church. We are seeking a passionate and dedicated part-time Preschool Teacher to join our team. Our goal is to guide each child into becoming self-confident and enthusiastic about learning while continuing to grow in their love of Jesus.
BASIC DUTIES
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with the preschool curriculum
- Create a safe and supportive classroom setting for children
- Provide individualized attention to each child to support their learning and development
- Conduct assessments to monitor student progress
- Collaborate with parents and caregivers to ensure the best possible outcomes for each child
- Incorporate physical education activities into daily routines
- Being present and punctual on scheduled days and notifying the Director upon all necessary absences
- Providing instruction and activities that promote academic, emotional, social, and spiritual growth in accordance with our guidelines and philosophies
- Assist children as needed relating to eating, restroom breaks, cleanliness, and safety
- Remain pleasant, calm and positive with the children at all times, especially while meeting each child at his/her level of need
- Responsible for basic cleanup and sanitization of their classrooms
- Assist with carpool duties at dismissal
- Maintain accurate records, including pertinent emails, phone calls and text messages with parents, as well as accident/injury reports, behavior modification requests, and specific child safety documentation, etc. for each child
- Attend monthly staff meetings and any additional training meetings as necessary
QUALIFICATIONS
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of two years experience teaching in a Christian preschool setting. PPC’s preschool teacher must be a person who has a heartfelt love of children and values the inherent benefits of a Christian-based early education program.
CPR/First Aid certification is a plus.
HOURS
Our Preschool operates Monday – Friday, 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM, September – May on the Charlotte Mecklenburg school schedule, with summers off. Teacher hours are 8:30-1:30.
